Oktay Atalay has made images for a living since 2015: key visuals, campaign material, video editing and 3D work, mostly in pharmaceutical communications and international event production.

That is an unusual background for someone running a forensics tool, and it is precisely why FakeRadar exists. Deciding whether an image can be used is a daily professional judgement in that line of work. When generative models got good enough that a synthetic photograph could pass for a commissioned shoot, that judgement stopped being reliable on its own, and the verification tools that existed were either enterprise contracts or research code run from a terminal.

The guides on this site come from the same place. The detection methods are published and well documented in academic work, but very little of that literature speaks to the person who simply needs to decide whether one particular photograph can be trusted. Every article here sets out what a signal actually means and, just as importantly, where it fails.

He is not a security researcher and does not present himself as one. FakeRadar's detection models come from Hive and Sightengine. The forensic techniques it applies, error level analysis, frequency-domain analysis, C2PA verification and EXIF inspection, are standard published methods rather than anything invented here.
